Services

Please note that I will be on maternity leave starting in April 2024. I will be resuming therapy services in August 2024.

Individual Therapy

Healing often begins with individual therapy. Together we set goals and agree on a treatment plan. For individual therapy with children, family and/or parent sessions are also required.

 

 

Parent Coaching

Raising children can be very difficult, especially when there is conflict or someone in the home struggles with mental health. Parent coaching can help parents learn new ways to navigate the parent-child relationship, including setting limits, building connection, and understanding how to communicate to your child.

Family Therapy

Family therapy helps to promote healthy communication in the home. Often poor communication leads to more arguments and feelings less connected to each other. Family therapy helps to mend these ruptures and find ways to move through conflict together. 

Group Therapy

Groups are a great place to learn skills within a safe community. I will be starting a DBT skills group soon! If you are interested please let me know and I will notify you when the group starts. Group will be held on Sunday afternoon.

Specialities

  • Trauma

    Trauma often leaves a mark on the heart, body, and mind that is very hard to heal from. Often times trauma symptoms can be present years after a trauma and be very difficult to manage. I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CFT) to help people process and overcome past traumas.

  • Family conflict

    The people we love the most are also sometimes the ones it is hardest for us to communicate with. I work to help families understand each other, communicate more effectively, and improve the quality of the relationshp.

  • Intense Emotions

    Some people feel emotions more intensely than others. These big feelings can be very difficult to manage. I help people learn to ride the waves of their feelings confidentially and effectively. Intense feelings can include depression, anxiety, anger, or any other feelings that becomes so big and overwhelming it impacts your life. Together we can work towards freedom from these intense feelings.

  • Children and teenagers

    The majority of my clinical experience has been focused on working with children and teenagers. I incorporate elements of play, drama, music, and art into my work with youth. I believe it is important to help kids and teenagers feel comfortable and confident exploring their emotions, learning to communicate, and managing big feelings.

  • DBT

    I have advanced training in DBT with adults, teenagers, and children. I have worked on comprehensive DBT teams in the past, but I don’t currently offer comprehensive DBT (which includes phone coaching and requires DBT skills group). I offer a DBT informed approach that focuses on learning skills to improve coping, goal directed behavior, and adaptive communication. All of my work incorporates elements of DBT and the extent of that is decided in our initial session.

  • Parent Coaching and Support

    Parenting a child or teenager with intense emotions can be very difficult. Often the same parenting strategies that have worked with other children don’t work as well with emotionally sensitive youth. In parent coaching I work with parents to learn and practice new ways to respond to your child, set limits, and offer support.
